Greece is currently a hot spot for the super wealthy. We have been extremely busy rearranging holidays to Greece from other destinations on the quarantine list, U.K. outbound flights to Greece are up by 80% so far this month.
Alongside the arrival of private jets super yachts are coming in their hoards. The number of super yachts in Greece is at a three year high according to Bloomberg. Turkey is currently hosting its largest volume of super yachts since Summer 2017. The Maltese Falcon, one of the world’s largest sailing yachts, has spent most of the summer cruising Turkey’s south coast.
Other yachts have made their way from favoured cruising grounds in France and Monaco to Italy, where there are currently few restrictions for travellers.
Dilbar, the world’s largest private yacht by weight, recently set out to voyage from Monaco to the Italian island of Sardinia. However with the number of COVID-19 cases in Italy now at their highest level since May, it might not hang around for too long. Private jets are already circling nearby Olbia.
